In addition to the price of the specific product being printed, screen printing pricing is influenced by the following factors: - Screen Printing Technique - The specific printing technique will affect the price. For example, basic spot printing will typically be among the lowest cost options while all over printing and Simulated Process printing will be among the higher priced techniques. Often, the pricing associated with the technique will be influenced by the number of screens and coverage areas.
- Coverage Area - The coverage area (e.g. full back, full front, pocket area, sleeve) will affect the price based on application and ink requirements.
- Number of print colors (including white underlay as required) - With most processes, each color is applied as an individual step. Therefore, the more colors that are applied, the more steps to the printing process which will increase the price.
- Number of screens required - In most cases, a separate screen is required for each color (Process Color Printing being the possible exception given its reliance on CMYK colors). For each screen required, a set up charge will typically apply.
